The Engineers successfully defended a paltry total of 97 to defeat Alpha Q. The Engineers’ total was helped by a wayward bowling by the Alpha Q and then a sedate innings by their captain, Biju Paul, who helped stretch the total to 97 all out from 44/8. Skipper then followed his batting with two wickets in consecutive deliveries in his opening over. A hat trick was narrowly avoided when a catch fell short of the gully. Alpha Q, however, fought hard and came within the reach of 10 runs for victory but the Engineers bowling attack prevailed.
